History
The 6004 is another in a series of plug-door box cars offered by Lionel. These short and sparsely decorated cars are frequently referred to as Scout cars.

The 6004 is a continuation of the 1004 box car. The difference being the scout couplers were updated with magnetic couplers. This box car is a somewhat hard item to locate but interest is remains minimal.

Features
Standard features of the 6004 were sparse and included: unpainted orange body with blue lettering and non-opening doors on each side. As for the trucks, it is always staple-end trucks with magnetic couplers. The Pennsylvania railroad logo appears on each side of the car.

Additional Detail, Photos & Box Information
The length of the box car is approximately 8 1/2" long (coupler to coupler).

Only Known Variation - Shown in the photo above - All 6004 Baby Ruth box cars were unpainted orange with outlined blue lettering.
