56 Lamp Post

56lamp.jpg

Production:  1945 - 1949

History
The 56 Lamp Post is a carryover lamp from the prewar era. It's rather basic design or shape lends itself to being a model of any typical Main Street USA street lamp seen in the United States during the 1930's.

Features
Standard features on the 56 Lamp Post include the following: painted green lamp post with small corner legs, clear plastic lens, painted lamp cap plus a clear lightbulb. There are two terminal posts on the top of the base. Due to its age, the clear plastic bulb housing is almost always faded with a yellowish tint.

Prewar versions of this lamp post were painted in many colors including; light gray, dark gray, mojave, pea green and bronze. Postwar versions were only painted light or dark green.
