6037 Lionel Lines
Production: 1952 - 1954
History
The 6037 is a transition or hy-bred item between Lionel's limited success scout series trains and their 027 line. As Lionel started to phase out the scout line in the early 1950's the 6037 was introduced as a starter caboose. It used some scout parts, but was made to be compatible with all other Lionel trains.
The 6037 brown caboose has generate little interest in the collector or operator community. However, there is a red version of the 6037. The red version was a limited production run and is hard to find. Red 6037 cabooses are in demand by caboose collectors as it is a difficult item to locate in collectable condition.
Features
Standard features of the 6037 caboose include the scout style truck bolsters fitted with regular knuckle couples, unpainted shell, a single operating coupler and end-railings at each end.
