KW Transformer


Production: 1950 - 1965

The KW Transformer is the second largest transformer produced by Lionel during the postwar years. With 190 watts and the ability to run two sets of trains, it remains a desirable transformer today -- just as it did in the 1950's and 1960's.

Standard features of the KW include:

  • 190 watts
  • Dual controls to run two independant trains
  • Dual directional controls
  • Horn and whistle controller
  • Circuit breaker
  • Constant 14 volt output terminal post

Dimensions of the KW are: 7" wide, 7" deep and 7 1/2" high.

Only Known Variation - Shown in the photo above - There were no variations to the KW transformer although its box did have several different variations.
