History
The 6464-125 New York Central box car was one of six all-new 6464-series box cars offered in only Lionel's second year of 6464 freight car production: 1954. This specific box car, with realistic and prototypical exterior paint and lettering, continues to be a favorite of operators and collectors.

Features
The 6464-125 box car included the following standard features: gray and red exterior colors with white lettering plus a sliding side door on each side which was always unpainted solid red. Finally, bar-end trucks with operating couplers were the norm with a single metal brakewheel mounted on one end.

Only Known Variation - Shown in the photo above - Although there are minor differences regarding the painted exterior color (either gray, red or both), there is minimal difference in value regarding these variations.
