History
The 6406 was only available for a single year: 1961. This freight car lacked exterior lettering on the sides but did include a single, premium automobile. Collectors sometimes confuse this flatcar with the 6401 or 6404 freight cars. Although the flatcars are virtually identical, the loads on these three freight cars did varied when compared to each other.

Features
The 6406 flatcar contains the following standard features: unpainted gray flatcar without side lettering. The trucks were usually arch-bar trucks, but is known to exist with AAR trucks. Finally, the 6406 never included wire truss rods on the bottom of the flatcar.

The length of this type of flatcar is approximately 9.25" long (coupler to coupler).

Only Known Variation - Shown in the photo above - All 6406's flatcars were gray with a single yellow automobile.
