1629 Chesapeake & Ohio Four Car Diesel Freight Set (1960)

History
The Chesapeake & Ohio diesel freight set was only available for a single year, 1960. Both the 225 C & O Alco diesel and the 6219 C & O work caboose items were only produced for a single year (1960) and this is the only catalogued set to include either item. Interestingly, the remaining three freight cars were all carry-over items from 1959. Lastly, this set is one of only a few select postwar sets to include a diesel and caboose with matching roadnames.

As with many of the space and military freight cars of the 1960's, pay attention to the removable loads. Quite frequently the helicopter and missile are either missing, damaged or replaced with a reproduction part. Additionally, the front apron or strut on the diesel is commonly cracked or missing.
