1633 United States Navy Four Car Diesel Freight Set (1960)

Here's the infamous United States Navy diesel freight set from 1960. The all-blue diesel, caboose and freight cars makes a colorful and attractive set. Additionally, the outfit is one of the rarest and most sought-after postwar Lionel sets.

Individually, every component in the set is difficult to locate in collectable condition. Therefore, trying to find a complete, intact and undamaged set can take many years to finally locate. To this day, this set remains in demand by both collectors and well as the proud women and men whom have served in the United States Navy.

As with many of the space and military freight cars of the 1960's, pay attention to the removable loads. Quite frequently the helicopter, submarine and missiles are either missing, damaged or replaced with a reproduction part. Additionally, the front apron or strut on the diesel is commonly cracked or missing.
