202 Union Pacific

Quantity:

Product Description

Prodution: 1957

History
The 202 Union Pacific Alco A marked the re-introduction the Alco series diesel back into the Lionel family after a two-year hiatus. These new Alcos, like their predecessors, are smooth running diesels but clearly lacked the quality, detail and durability of the earlier Alcos.

Prior to the 202, all Alcos were produced as an AA combination. The 202 Union Pacific Alco A was the first Alco released by Lionel as a single A unit. As production continued during the postwar era, the single A unit Alco locomotive became the norm as Lionel produced few Alcos as AA units.

Features
Standard features of the 202 Union Pacific include: orange painted body with black lettering, closed front pilot, single-axle Magnetraction, illumination and a two-position E-unit. The rear coupler is a fixed die-cast coupler.

Additional Detail, Photos & Box Information
The length of this type of Alco is approximately 11" long (coupler to coupler).

Only Known Variation - All 202 Alcos are painted orange with black lettering.
