- 2024 Chesapeake & Ohio
Product Description
Production: 1969
History
The 2024 Chesapeake & Ohio Alco A diesel has the distinction of being the very last train item introduced by the original Lionel Train Corporation. It was introduced and catalogued for only one year, 1969, and was the lead diesel for one freight set. 1969 also represented the final year of train production from the original Lionel Train Corporation.
Although demand for this item is low, it is not an easy item to locate in collectable condition. With its unfortunate historical status of being the end of the line for new postwar train products -- coupled with its low demand -- this item has become a bargain and is usually found at a reasonable price.
Features
Standard features of the 2024 include: blue molded body with yellow strips and lettering, open front pilot, fixed couplers on the front and rear, traction tire, two-position E-unit plus a headlight and headlight lens.
