- 2328 Burlington
Product Description
Production: 1955 & 1956
History
The 2328 Burlington GP7 was one of three road names to appear on this all new diesel style of 1955. The other two GP7's introduced in 1955 were the 2028 Pennsylvania and 2338 Milwaukee Road. The Burlington GP7 was the lead locomotive in 1955 for both one passenger and one freight set while in 1956 it was at the front of only a single passenger set. All three GP7's have become desirable and collectable diesels.
A common problem with the 2328 is the quality of the silver paint. Frequently, the silver has tarnished or become 'washed out' in appearance. Locating a Burlington diesel with a high quality silver exterior will require some effort.
Features
Standard features of the 2328 Burlington GP7 include: silver painted shell with red lettering and frame, Magnetraction, horn, three-position E-unit, illumination at each end, operating couplers plus an ornamental horn on each side.
