- 2404, 2405 & 2406 Streamline: Santa Fe
Product Description
Production: 1964 & 1965
History
The 2404 vista dome, 2405 pullman and 2406 observation are noteworthy for several reasons within the history of Lionel:
- These are the last all-new passenger cars offered by Lionel during the postwar era.
- All Santa Fe streamline cars never included a unique name on the side of the car.
- These cars have the dubious distinction of being the most basic streamline passenger car manufactured during the postwar era. The only feature included operating couplers. There are no window silhouettes nor interior lighting.
As with most silver painted items from the postwar era, the silver paint is easy to nick, mark or scratch. Clean examples are hard to find and will command a premium in the marketplace.
Features
Standard features on the these passenger cars include: painted silver bodies, blue Santa Fe lettering and numbers and die-cast passenger car trucks with operating couplers.
