- 2456 Lehigh Valley
Product Description
Production: 1948
History
The 2456 Lehigh Valley hopper, along with its 027 cousin the 6456 Lehigh Valley Hopper, were the first new short hoppers introduced by Lionel in the postwar era. The 2456 was included in O gauge sets as well as being available for separate sale. Except for the item number, the only difference between a 2456 and 6456 are the couplers. The 2456 has coil couplers while the 6456 has magnetic couplers.
Being a one-year-only item, the 2456 is hard to find and locating one in collector quality examples will require some time.
Features
Standard features of the 2456 include metal trucks, painted black body, white lettering, two operating coil couplers and a single brakewheel.
