3356-100 Set of Horses

Quantity:

Product Description

Production: 1956 - 1959 & 1964 - 1966

History
The individually boxed set of horses was first seen with the 1956 introduction of the 3356 Operating Horse Car and Station. Lionel always included nine horses in the box. As with many of the replacement parts offered by Lionel, the horses are somewhat common -- but a complete and intact box for a set of horses is one of the more difficult individual boxes packaged with an operating freight car.

Features
Standard features of the 3356-100 Set of Horses include: nine black rubber horses.

Additional Detail, Photos & Box Information
There are four variations to the numbering on the box.

Late Classic, No Side Number - Shown in tfirst photo above - Produced from 1956 until 1959 -- this is the more common version, although it is difficult to locate.
Plain White Box - Introduced in 1964 with the re-issue of the Operating Horse car. This box was produced until 1966 and was only available with the Operating Horses car set, it was not a separate sale item. This is a scarce box.
