History
The 6004 is another in a series of plug-door box cars offered by Lionel. These short and sparsely decorated cars are frequently referred to as Scout cars.
The 6004 is a continuation of the 1004 box car. The difference being the scout couplers were updated with magnetic couplers. This box car is a somewhat hard item to locate but interest is remains minimal.
Features
Standard features of the 6004 were sparse and included: unpainted orange body with blue lettering and non-opening doors on each side. As for the trucks, it is always staple-end trucks with magnetic couplers. Both the Pennsylvania railroad as well as the Baby Ruth logo appears on each side of the car.

The length of the box car is approximately 8 1/2" long (coupler to coupler).
Only Known Variation - Shown in first photo above - All 6004 Baby Ruth box cars were unpainted orange with outlined blue lettering.
