6130 A. T. & S. F.

Quantity:

Product Description

Production:  1961 - 1969

History
The 6130 A.T. & S.F. (Santa Fe) work caboose is a common caboose and frequently included in many sets produced by Lionel during the 1960s. It's bright red exterior with white graphics makes this an attractive caboose.

Features
The 6130 work caboose included the following standard features: AAR trucks, one operating coupler, short plastic smokestack, painted red cab and tool bin, black frame with white lettering and graphics on the tool bin and cab.

In 1966, Lionel did manufacture an unpainted version of the 6130. The most notable difference is the caboose frame, which was no longer painted and the natural color of the metal has a hint of bronze in its color.

The 6130 is available with any combination of early and late AAR trucks

Additional Detail, Photos & Box Information
A common problem with all 6130 cabooses is with the paint on the corner metal footsteps. It is quite common for the paint to flake or peel off each corner step. Locating a 6130 work caboose with intact steps and paint is difficult.

The length of this caboose is approximately 8 1/2" long (coupler to end).

Painted Caboose & Tool Tray - Shown in first photo above - The most common version of all 6130 cabooses.
Unpainted Caboose and Tool Tray (Second photo above) - A rare version, produced only in 1966.
