6411 Flatcar w/ Logs

Quantity:

Product Description

Production:  1948 - 1950

History
The 6411 flatcar was introduced in 1948. It is a continuation of the 2411 flatcar, but the new magnetic couplers replaced the coil couplers. Otherwise, there are no differences between the two flatcar.

The 6411 flatcar is popular with operators and children. They enjoy creating their own loads to be carried around a layout. It's not uncommon to see a string of 6411 flatcars, each with a different or unique homemade freight load.

Features
The 6411 flatcar contains the following standard features: painted gray flatcar with black lettering, staple-end metal trucks with two operating magnetic couplers, eight metal stakes plus two brakestands with brakewheels and four wire end railings. The number is always stamped in black on the bottom of the flatcar. The flatcar must be turned upside-down in order to see the number.

For each year of production Lionel always included a load of three stained logs. This is slightly different than the 2411 which carried three unstained logs as its standard load.

Additional Detail, Photos & Box Information
