History
The 6464-900 has the distinction of being the highest number in the 6464 box car series. It's realistic and eye-catching jade-green color and prototypical graphics has made this a desirable car for both collectors and operators.
Lionel included this New York Central box car in three sets during the seven year production cycle. All three sets were Super-O outfits; the first in 1960 lead by a 2383 F3, the second in 1961 with the 2360 GG1 as the lead engine and lastly in 1963 with the 637 Prairie steam locomotive at the front of a Super-O outfit.
Features
The 6464-900 box car included the following standard features: jade-green painted shell with white, black and red lettering, AAR trucks with two operating couplers plus a single brakewheel. Lastly, there were several different original box variations available for the New York Central box car.

The length of the 6464 style box car is approximately 10 1/2" long (coupler to coupler).
Only Known Variation - Shown in first photo above - All 6464-900 body cars are painted jade-green with white, black and red lettering. There are several mold variations for the more experienced collector -- some of which are extremely pricy.
