Product Description
Production: 1958
History
The 6556 Missouri, Kansas & Texas / Katy Stock Car was available for only a single year -- 1958. This style freight car was classified by Lionel as a bi-level stock car. During the postwar era, Lionel produced the bi-level stock car with three different roadnames: 6356 New York Central, 6376 Circus car and 6556 Katy. The Katy version was the last of the three stock cars produced by the Lionel Corporation and is the hardest of the three to locate -- almost being rare in status. Lastly, Lionel offered the 6556 as a separate sale item as well as being included in one Super-O freight set in 1958.
Features
Standard features on the 6556 include: red painted body with white lettering, four unpainted white sliding doors, single brakewheel plus bar-end trucks with tab couplers.
