6646 Lionel Lines Stock Car

The 6646 Stock car was a one-year only item, 1957 and is similar to the 6656 of the early 1950's. This stock car is a somewhat hard-to-find, but even more difficult to locate is the original box for a 6646. Lastly, the 6646 was included in only one 027 gauge steam freight set in 1957.

Features
Standard features of the 6646 Stock Car include: unpainted orange body with black lettering, AAR trucks, metal corner steps, opening plastic doors and metal door guides.

The 6646 is an anomaly in that Lionel actually added detail to the car rather than remove detail. All 6646 cars include metal corner steps. This is somewhat counter to the direction taken by Lionel since the last appearance of metal corner steps was in the 1950 product line -- seven years prior to the production of this car!
