- 93 Industrial Water Tower
Product Description
Production: 1946 - 1950
History
The 93 Industrial Water Tower was first introduced by Lionel during its prewar era in 1931. Subsequently, when postwar production began, Lionel re-introduced this accessory with the same same basic, almost toy-like prewar construction. However, collectors and operators continue to enjoy this water tower as it is a good representation of a typical water tower seen throughout the United States in the 1930's. Because of it's relatively small base and budget friendly cost, Lionel operators continue to look for complete water towers to fill in those small locations on their layouts.
Features
Standard features on the 93 Industrial Water Tower include the following: red painted base, silver painted metal water tower and support structure, black water spout plus a Lionel Trains decal with red lettering.
Additional Detail, Photos & Box Information
Red-painted Metal Tower - Shown in first photo above - All postwar water towers had a red painted base, silver support structure, silver water tower and black spout.
Green-painted Metal Tower - Although never produced during the postwar era, when introduced in the early 1930's, the initial production run by Lionel had a green painted tower with a maroon or terra cotta painted base. These early green variations are rare.
