2346 Boston & Maine

Quantity:

Product Description

Production: 1965 & 1966

History
The 2346 Boston & Maine GP9 diesel -- along with the uncatalogued 2347 Chesapeake and Ohio GP7 -- have the distinction of being the last GP series diesels introduced by Lionel during the postwar era. The 2346 included many premium features frequently missing on Lionel's GP7's and GP9's produced during the 1960's. To this day, collectors and operators still actively seek this engine as it is both a colorful engine with realistic graphics and markings as well as a very reliable diesel.

Features
The 2346 Boston & Maine offered the following standard features: gray mold with painted blue, white and black areas, white lettering, three-position E-unit, two-axle Magnetraction, front and rear operating couplers, operating horn plus a headlight at each end and simulated horn on the shell. The frame and side railings are painted white.
