Product Description
Production: 1958 & 1959
History
The 2348 Minneapolis & St. Louis (M. & St. L.) GP9 diesel was a quality road switcher which Lionel produced for two years. It carries an attractive and prototypical paint scheme and has the distinction of being the first GP9 offered by Lionel during the postwar era (all prior Geeps were GP7's). The 2348 was at the front of one Super O freight set in 1958 and remains in demand today and continues to be popular with both the collectors and operators.
Features
The 2348 M. & St. L. diesel has the following standard features: gray molded shell painted red, white and blue, three position E-unit, two-axle magnetraction, front and rear operating couplers, functional horn plus an illuminated headlight at each end and two exterior simulated horns. A black plastic simulated fuel tank is attached to the underside of the frame.
