3462-70 Magnetic Milk Can Set

The 3462-70 Magnetic Milk Can Set was available during the entire thirteen year run of the operating milk cars. The milk can set was sold as a replacement item for those who may have lost their original milk cans. However, you could also purchase the set and use it as extra detailing on your layout. As with many of the replacement parts, the milk cans are common -- the box is difficult to locate.

Features
Standard features of the 3462-70 Milk Can set include: six or seven aluminum milk cans, each with a tiny magnet mounted on the bottom of the milk can.

Additional Detail, Photos & Box Information
There are three variations to the wording on the exterior of the box -- each are hard to locate.

Lettered 'For Use With 3462 Automatic Milk Car' - This box is 3 1/4" long and assumed to have been produced only in 1947 and 1948. This is a scarce box.
Lettered 'For Use With 3462 Automatic Milk Car' - Shown in the photo above - Similar to the above box except the length is shortened to 2 15/16". It is estimated this box was produced in 1949 and 1950 and is hard to find.
Lettered 'For Use With 3462 & 3472 Automatic Milk Cars' - The most common version and is assumed to have been produced between 1950 and 1957. The length of this box remained at 2 15/16".
