History
The 35 Lamp Post is an almost scale-like replica of a lamp post frequently seen in the United States during the 1930s and early 1940's. Additionally, the 35 Lamp Post is one of a few accessories produced in both the prewar and postwar Lionel era.

This 35 Lamp Post was a time-consuming item to produce as there were six individual components used to make the lamp. The 35 was replaced in 1949 with the 71 Lamp Post -- which only required 3 separate components to assemble.

When purchasing a 35 lamp post, beware of two common problems usually associated with this accessory. First, the globe are frequently found with hairline cracks and secondly the tiny crown points on top are frequently broken, damaged or missing.

Features
Standard features on the 35 Lamp Post include the following: silver lamp post and a white or off-white plastic globe and a silver crown. The 35 always used a screw-in lamp and was pre-wired and does not include wire terminals.
