64 Highway Lamp Post

Quantity:

Product Description

Production: 1945 - 1948

History
The 64 Highway Lamp Post is a highly detailed model of a typical highway lamp seen on any United States highway during the 1930's and 1940's. Because of its higher price tag compared to other Lionel street lamps, the 64 Highway Lamp Post is somewhat hard to find.

The 64 Lamp Post has a very delicate bulb. Since no other Lionel item ever used this type of bulb, it is hard to find original replacement bulbs for this lamp. Additionally, although the bulb was rated at 12 volts, it should always be operated at a voltage much less than 12 volts to preserve its life.

Features
Standard features on the 64 Lamp Post include the following: painted green lamp post with a white globe-shaped bulb. A unique feature of this lamp is that is was always painted after the wiring was assembled, so you will always see the soldered wire on the base painted green.

Additional Detail, Photos & Box Information

Only Known Variation - Shown in first photo above - All 64 Lamp Posts are green with it's own unique lamp bulb -- the # 64-15.
