Product Description
Production: 1948 & 1949
History
The 70 Yard Light is a small, yet a scale-like version of a spotlight used in many industrial areas of the United States in the 1940's. Although the light was catalogued for three years (1948 - 1950), it is believed production ended in 1949 and excess inventory was sold during 1950.
Due to a thin post support, the bakelite base is prone to cracking or easily being damaged. When handling a complete and undamaged yard light, extra care should be taken to avoid any damage to the black base.
Features
Standard features on the 70 Yard Light include the following: black bakelite base, metal support pole, blackened die-cast swiveling lamp socket and a light bulb. The 70 always used a bayonet-based lamp and was pre-wired to wire terminals on the base.
As with many of the smaller accessory items, a complete original box for the 70 is more difficult to locate than the actual yard light itself.
